Barcelona to stage Euro Hockey League KO16

Real Club de Polo de Barcelona will host the EHL Men’s KO16 at Camp Eduardo Dualde.

The Oct 9-12 event with kickstart the 19th season of the world’s premier club competition.

The event will see 16 clubs from 11 different countries competing in a straight knock-out format. Here is the confirmed list of teams who will be in the line-up:

HC Bloemendaal, SV Kampong (Netherlands); Royal Léopold Club, Braxgata HC (Belgium), Old Georgians HC, Wimbledon HC (England); Hamburger Polo Club (Germany); Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, Club de Campo de Madrid (Spain), CAM 92, Saint Germain HC (France), HC Wien (Austria), Banbridge HC (Ireland), Western Wildcats HC (Scotland), SK Slavia Prague (Czechia), HC Olten (Switzerland)

For teams who win two successive games, they will earn one of the precious FINAL8 tickets on offer where they will join already qualified AH&BC Amsterdam (Netherlands), Gantoise (Belgium), Surbiton HC (England) and Crefelder HTC (Germany).

It will be the third time the Barcelona club has hosted the event, the previous time being ROUND1A in 2009 and the KO16 in 2023. 

Real Club de Polo’s competition board member Leandro Martinez Zurita said: “Hosting the EHL KO16 is an exciting challenge for the club and the team, bringing some of the world’s best players to our venue to take on our local heroes. We cannot wait for it.”
