The RAF U25 Men’s hockey team stormed to Inter-Service glory at HMS Temeraire, overpowering both the Army and Navy with dominant performances to lift the 2025 UKAFHA Inter-Service Championship.
They opened their campaign with a decisive 5-1 win over the Army. AS1 Thomas Scuffham’s sublime reverse strike broke the deadlock, and after a brief Army equaliser, the RAF turned on the style.
Plt Off William Morgan’s top-corner rocket was one of four unanswered goals in a rampant second-half display.
Day two brought a tougher challenge against a confident Navy side, but the RAF stood firm. Scuffham again opened the scoring with a calm finish before AS1 Matt Ambrose’s deflected short corner sealed a 2-0 win — and with it, the title.

Meanwhile, the RAF Senior Men’s side were denied a ninth straight Inter-Service title in heartbreaking fashion. After rallying from 2-0 down to level against the Army, thanks to a Cpl Scott Perry brace, they were undone by a last-gasp counterattack to lose 3-2.
They responded in style with a 4-2 win over the Navy, led by a Sgt Kyle Barnes hat-trick, but it wasn’t enough to claim the championship.
The RAF Women’s team fought fiercely in their campaign. A bruising 2-0 opening loss to the Army — both goals coming from penalty corners — set them back, despite moments of brilliance from Sgt Moir and AS1 Beau Wood.

But redemption came against the Navy. Flying Officer Jeorgia Carr’s two thunderous drag flicks sealed a dramatic 2-1 win, showing the team’s resilience and promise.
The RAF Men’s Masters bounced back from a 6-3 defeat to the Army to beat the Navy 5-3, while the Women’s Masters finished with a resounding 7-2 win after a narrow opening loss.
