Can China men’s hockey grow after women’s Olympic success?

With the country’s strong tradition in the sport, particularly from the Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner in Inner Mongolia, the future of men’s hockey looks promising. More so after Alyson Annan took China women to Paris 2024 silver.

Morin Dawa Daur has long been known as China’s “hometown of field hockey,” where the sport is deeply ingrained in the local culture.

The region’s passion for field hockey stretches back to the 1970s, with the formation of China’s first national men’s field hockey team in 1976.
