Transgender trio to challenge England Hockey ban in ‘landmark legal case’ hopes

Three transgender athletes are preparing to file a legal complaint against England Hockey over its decision to ban trans women from competing in the female category from next season.

The case is led by Rachel Saunders who plays for Boots HC who says it could set a significant precedent for transgender inclusion in UK sports.​ Saunders has been joined by two other trans and non-binary hockey players as they fight England Hockey’s new policy.

  1. They are not banning transgender, just transgender from Womens hockey, trans can still play in the mens team.
    They will not get anywhere with this especially after the supreme court ruling on women.
    I have not heard one person say open is a bad idea, women and open seems perfectly sensible.
    I’m sure the press is making more of this than actually it is.

    This I am afraid is rubbish, there is no grass roots concern. What about the freedom for people born women to have private safe spaces, more women need to speak up for themselves and stand up to the invasion of their space and sport by trans. What about natural born women and their identity, people seem to forget this. There is no threat to men in all of this just a threat to women.

    Trans can still play hockey but just in the group that they were born in, not one they choose to change to.
