Old Georgians proved a cut above as they defended their men’s Super Sixes title following a 7-4 win over Wimbledon.
East Grinstead women also proved themselves as the best club indoors with a 6-3 victory over Surbiton in the women’s final.
In a final featuring the two stand out teams, OGs added to their outdoor success with more indoor pedigree.
OGs were 6-0 up and limiting Wimbledon’s corner chances before the Londoners showed some respite with three goals in two minutes. But the rally proved too little too late.
Dan Shingles, Chris Griffiths and Tom Carson netted braces for OGs.
OGs had beaten EG in the semi-finals after a four-goal blitz in three minutes by the Carson brothers in the first-half during an 8-4 win. Meanwhile, Wimbledon had smashed Southgate 11-1.
In the women’s final, EG never had it their own way until the final minutes against Surbiton.
At 2-2 it was anyone’s title but a PC double from Chloe Brown tipped the scales in EG’s favour and cemented their indoor prowess after first bursting on the scene in 2016.
