Women’s Hockey India League: Brits enjoy pay day away from home

GB stars Fiona Crackles and Sophie Hamilton have enjoyed the spotlight of first women’s HIL

Ranchi — Fiona Crackles was in Australia training when she got the call from Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers asking if she would become a franchise player in the first Women’s Hockey League.

Already in Australia playing Hockey One and taking time away from the GB women’s programme, the Cumbrian didn’t think twice and was purchased for around £9,000.
