Hockey India League: We are taking a five-year player view – Delhi SG Pipers CEO

Delhi SG Pipers may not have picked up the biggest expensive purchases in the Hockey India League, but admitted to aiming long-term with a focus on the under-21s who could become future stars in India.

Former tennis grand slam champion turned entrepreneur Mahesh Bhupathi, now CEO of SG Sports, Media and Entertainment (SGSE), was on hand in New Delhi as the franchise team put together its strategy for the next three years.

SGSE own teams in sporting leagues across Ultimate Table Tennis, Chess Global League, Tennis Premier League, the Madya Pradesh League (T20 cricket) and padel. They have also purchased a franchise in the women’s HIL.
