This season the Beaverton, Oregon sports giant Nike (Nike, Inc.) has entered the British hockey market with the launch of its first complete hockey product collection, expanding beyond their range of uniforms and footwear with the addition of sticks.
Available in three different models, the new sticks from Nike feature a unique geometry and shape that differs from others that are currently on the market.
Additionally aided by the inclusion of new technology, the sticks feature an ‘anti-fatigue matrix’ which is located on the reverse edge within the composite matrix.
The manufacturer says this provides an elastic cushioning to relief stress.
The near net shape of each of the three models of sticks is also built to reduce fibre delamination and impact on shock/vibration.
Each of the three models is available in three different levels of carbon: Max Carbon – Elite Model, High Carbon – Select Model and Mid Carbon – LT model.
The models which serve as the banner for this collection, which is set to release by the end of this month in select markets, are the Laser, Shadow and Pursuit.
The Laser’s geometry is optimised for aggressive direct play, 3D Skills and flicking.
Meanwhile, the Shadow sticks are perfect for ball carrying and creative skills and the Pursuit collection has been made with block, slapping and driving in mind.
Nike first showcased the sticks at the Paris Olympic Games, with Dutch gold medalist Duco Telgenkamp and German star and team captain Christopher Ruhr both premiering as the brand’s leading player ambassadors in the sport.
The sports giant is expected to announce some significant international signings to the brand in early New Year.
Nike is also expected to additionally launch its sports bag range from summer 2025.
Prices for the new range of sticks will retail from £150 and currently available from Total Hockey UK.
