Are hockey clubs outside M25 effectively feeders for university and London sides?

With each passing season, London continues to attract the country’s most talented players in the domestic game with clubs dominating the Premier Division, writes Pete Jackson.

Whether attracted by the promise of employment, remuneration, opportunities in higher leagues or inclusion in elite development or international squads, this talent saturation is nothing new to the Premier Division, especially since the onset of central contracts from governing bodies.

Yet, increasingly, the accumulation of talent in and around the M25 is being felt and manifested within the lower tiers of the England Hockey national league and beyond.
