Historical records are hard to come by when it comes to English international hockey. But what is certain is that Lottie Bingham is one of a handful of players to score a double as an 18-year-old in only their second game on the global stage.
State-school educated Bingham, who plays for University of Birmingham, is one of a dozen players earning their first caps in the 2024/25 FIH Pro League and is the youngest in David Ralph’s squad, having already earned accolades in her rise through the England junior ranks.
Bingham’s goals – including a superb reverse for her second – contributed to a 3-1 win over Belgium on Monday, England’s first Pro League victory since beating Belgium 2-1 in the 2021/22 Pro League. It earned her the player of the match award.
