England to host EuroHockey 2027 men and women

England will stage EuroHockey 2027, two years after failing to win an audacious bid to host the 2026 World Cup.

It will be the first time Europe’s showpiece will return to English soil since 2015 when the women’s side lifted the trophy.

Lee Valley will stage group games, quarter-finals and side events for the 2027 event.

The semi-finals and finals of the Championships will see the return of Big Stadium Hockey, the drop-in turf which has been hosted by The Stoop in 2019.

England’s World Cup bid consisted of finals matches being staged at Tottenham Hotspur’s ground, before Belgium and the Netherlands won with its dual gender bid.

England Hockey said a tender process will decide which venue would stage the 2027 final stages, with up to 15,000 fans.

EuroHockey president Marcos Hofmann said: “England’s selection as the host for the EuroHockey Championships 2027 reflects the strength of their bid.

“We are confident that England will provide a fantastic platform for Europe’s top hockey talent to compete at the highest level.”

Kath Russ, England Hockey chair, said: “This is a momentous achievement for hockey in England, and we are excited about the opportunity to deliver an unforgettable tournament for fans, players, and the hockey community.”

SparkassenPark Mönchengladbach will host the 2025 Championships.
