The bidding process in the returning Hockey India League (HIL) will start in September, The Hockey Paper can reveal.
Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey confirmed that HIL will be staged in the last week of December (27 or 28), with the final set for Feb 1 after the governing body was given the green light by the FIH.

Yes publicity is lacking. BT were pathetic in their coverage. The BBC has ignored Hockey despite the Olympic successes and the “Hockey” websites do nothing to publicise hockey club fixtures? Even this so called Hockey Paper does nothing to publicise future fixtures or tournaments indoor or outdoor, international or home?
HIL fulfills a big requirement for the game. It brings Glamour and Money to the game of hockey.
Its welcome move, india has a large field hockey following on TV if its going to be modeled as IPL (cricket) we can see some real good bidding wars for hockey players…
