‘On right trajectory’: USA’s only women’s hockey medallists throw support behind class of Paris 2024

There were three Los Angeles 1984 Olympians present in Paris, 40 years after the trio won bronze for USA women. Gina Buggy, Charlene Morett-Curtiss and Leslie Milne were at Yves-du-Manoir Stadium to take in some of the Paris 2024 hockey competition.  

Members of the only USA women’s team to claim a podium place in hockey, there are high hopes that the current world No.13 squad, coached by David Passmore, can improve over the next four years to compete for medals at their home Games.

Buggy coached Ashley Sessa in high school, at the Episcopal Academy (in Pennsylvania). “They’re on the right trajectory and this is clearly a learning experience for them. I think the vibe is good,” she says.
