Paris Olympics Hockey: ‘It would really hurt if we stumbled v Team GB’ – Netherlands

Paris — Netherlands women’s coach Paul van Ass seemed to tone down his thoughts on a GB (or England) women’s side ahead of their quarter-final on Monday evening.

Van Ass has poured scorn on England sides (who have plenty of players in Paris from the 2023 EuroHockey campaign), admitting they lacked technical skills, while the longer the game remained 0-0, his side would “sometimes play hockey against ourselves,” adding: “If we take the lead quickly, then they have to give away spaces and we blow over it. Then it’s done.”
