Paris Olympics Hockey: Team GB hope Sir Andy Murray can inspire sides

Team GB hockey men and women players on Andy Murray’s athletes’ village speech

Paris — Team GB’s hockey players were part of a guard of honour to welcome back Andy Murray to the Athletes’ Village following his final ever tennis match. The Scot gave a speech to the gathered athletes on Friday and then presented Sarah Robertson with flowers after his fellow compatriot reached 100 caps for GB women.

Robertson said: “We did a nice tunnel at the end and I didn’t even realise he was there until I got to the end. Andy came down to the pitch and gave me the flowers. It was a lovely moment.”
