Paris Olympics Hockey notebook: Belgium’s Arthur van Doren faints from pain

It’s not just the heat in Colombes Belgium had to contend with against India. It was crash balls and team-mates’ sticks. 

A deflected crash ball into Arthur van Doren’s arm saw him grounded and ice quickly administered from the Red Lions’ physio. 

Players thought there was a fracture and his tournament over. As physio and player left the field, van Doren lost consciousness because of the pain.
