In more recent years there have been great steps taken in the sport of hockey to improve the game in all areas from fan engagement, grass roots infrastructure, financial rewards and sponsorship and obviously right down to youth participation so that the sport continues to grow, attract new blood and remains relevant and in the mix in the more modern world of sports entertainment.
With a number of different plans, initiatives and partnership agreements now in place with the aim of furthering hockey’s ambitions, there has recently been another development in the International Hockey Federation’s (FIH) worldwide education plans and they have now announced that they are teaming up with the RSI Sports Group and the FIKAGEAR brand, as an official FIH Academy Partner.
The new collaborative partnership agreement is explained as being an ‘exciting step forward’ in their overall mission to further improve hockey development and education around the globe, and given the RSI Sports Groups position as a global leader in sports infrastructure and performance equipment, they are well placed to aid the FIH and help drive them to reach the aims that they have set themselves. We all know how analytics inform modern sports predictions, but you can only deliver success when your development and education is right and many believe that the efforts undertaken on this front by the FIH will soon start showing some real rewards.
Known for innovative solutions and the extensive expertise that they have already delivered for the worldwide hockey community, the FIKAGEAR brand is well established in the game and known for their high quality and sustainable products that are ideally placed to foster player development both at the highest levels of the game, right down to the grass roots level. With the partnership agreed, they will now take their place in working alongside the FIH Academy to deliver the wide range of educational initiatives that are planned across the existing six programme areas.
Commenting on the deal, FIH President Tayyab Ikram explained:
“We are delighted to welcome RSI Sports Group and Fikagear as our FIH Academy Partner. Their passion for innovation and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our values. This partnership will help us empower our National Association members, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to grow hockey in their communities.”
Arnoud Fiolet, Managing Partner of RSI Sports Group (Fikagear), added:
“We are proud to partner with the FIH Academy to support the global growth of hockey through education and innovation. With FIKAGEAR, our mission is to empower athletes and coaches with smart, sustainable solutions that enhance learning and performance. This partnership is a natural fit, and we’re excited to contribute to the development of hockey communities worldwide.”
The new partnership will officially launch this month with a whole host of upcoming activities planned to complement current FIH Academy events and regional developments activities. They will undoubtedly be looking to build on the success of the Love Is All Erasmus+ project that formally launched their set of Hockey ID Toolkits following three years of research and hands on development back in March of this year.
