Hockey Pro League: GB women scramble bonus point in madcap China ending

London — The age it took to complete the GB women v China game on Wednesday, it was as if the Beatles or Beyoncé were in town such was the cacophony of youthful shrieks at Lee Valley. There was simply no let up.

The hundreds of school children in attendance to boost the mid morning start saw a “chaotic” (as China coach Alyson Annan saw it) ending to this Pro League encounter. 

Four goals in the last quarter was followed by 12 shoot-outs a piece before Amy Tennant, who had played a hand in shutting out seven China attempts, stood tall or went low down to block out the 24th to secure a point for GB. It included a fine double save.
