Nike Hockey Camps return this summer to inspire next generation

Young people across the globe can once again experience a taste of life as an elite hockey player at Nike Hockey Camps this summer — and The Hockey Paper is offering aspiring players a big discount offer!

Held at Radley College in Oxfordshire, boys and girls participants from ages 11-17 are given an insight into the training and mindset required to play at the highest level. With up to 24 hours of hockey training a week plus additional skills development workshops, the camps are an intensive experience designed to prepare young players to become successful athletes.

Former Australian player, Todd Williams, heads up a team of international players and elite-level coaches to develop skills on and off the pitch. Participants are challenged on all aspects of their game in twice-daily training sessions, focusing on a variety of technical and 3D skills, set pieces, match play situations, and athletic development.

Nike Hockey Camps will be held at Radley College

When not on the pitch, participants will engage in a series of interactive workshops designed to enhance their understanding of athletic performance, with topics including nutrition, goal setting, resilience, and self-reflection.

Recovery exercises, including yoga, help players to manage the intensive training schedule. With its historic buildings and state-of-the-art sports facilities, Radley provides a stunning backdrop to inspire the next generation.

“Nike Hockey Camps are all about helping young players to realise their potential. The training will focus on a range of game-winning skills, which we’ll later put to the test in game-play situations. Our curriculum is informed by the latest themes and strategies used by professional coaches and teams around the world, so players will come away with a better understanding of what it takes to reach the top!”

Todd Williams, Director of Coaching at Nike Hockey Camps

Although hockey is at the heart of the curriculum, camp life is designed to be an enriching experience for participants to grow in confidence and make friends for life.

The range of nationalities represented among the participants makes these camps unique, offering players the opportunity to experience new cultures and build friendships across continents.

Hockey is just one of the Nike camp programmes offered at Radley, with football, tennis and basketball players also coming together to hone their skills. The result is a fun and vibrant environment for players to learn and develop, with the opportunity to mix with young people from a variety of cultures, age groups and sports.

When are the hockey camps?

The action kicks off on July 1 until August 18. Participants can choose between 6 or 13-night options, with additional Hockey and English language camps offered to international players.

Alongside expert coaching, participants will have the support of a 24-hour welfare team onsite who are committed to ensuring every player’s physical and emotional wellbeing.
