Uddingston Hockey Club to celebrate World Gaelic Week

Uddingston Hockey Club is thrilled to announce its participation in Seachdain na Gàidhlig (World Gaelic Week), a week-long celebration dedicated to the promotion of Gaelic language and culture.

This event will take place from Feb 19-25, with this year’s theme being “Do Chànan, Do
Chultur/Your Language, Your Opportunity.”

Uddingston Hockey Club, known for its vibrant youth and senior sections in both men’s and women’s divisions, is a significant player in the Scottish Hockey scene.

The club introduced UddyTV in 2021, a platform streaming every home match for the Gents and Ladies 1s. Additionally, the club has expanded its digital footprint, engaging more club members in content creation, including the launch of a TikTok
account.

This year, Uddingston Hockey Club aims to incorporate Gaelic content across its livestreaming services and social media platforms during World Gaelic Week.

The club will post bilingual content, ensuring that both English and Gaelic-speaking audiences can enjoy and connect with the celebration.

This activity will include bilingual game commentary, videos, language challenge with teams and more.

Uddingston Hockey Club is excited to showcase its commitment to Gaelic language and culture during Seachdain na Gàidhlig, fostering inclusivity and celebrating diversity within the hockey community.
