‘Heart of the city’: Leicester pitch to become vibrant community hockey club

Leicester City Hockey Club hope to provide a new lease of life to hockey in the city centre with their new pitch at St Margaret’s Pastures 

After being a nomadic club for many years, taking a residency at a number of different pitches around Leicester and most recently at a grammar school, one of English hockey’s most sucessful clubs over the last 30 years has established a base that allows them to connect with their city.

Sarah Treanor, vice president of development at Leicester City HC told The Hockey Paper about the club’s journey towards installing their new Olympic standard pitch.

“For many years we have been quite a travelling hockey club,” she said.
