Couldn’t get any football World Cup tickets and container box accommodation costing hundreds? How about settling for a winter trip to the sub-continent? For the 2023 men’s World Cup in India have gone on sale – with prices ranging from just £1-£5 (Rs100-500) – at a similar cost to the 2018 edition.
The event will be held between Jan 13-29 when 16 top teams battle it out for the coveted trophy at state-of-the-art venues in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
On Thursday, there were few tickets left for the opening matches in Rourkela, which will launch the first major matches of the new 20,000-seater stadium when England and Wales kick off the World Cup.
The match will be followed by hosts India squaring off against Spain in their campaign opener. Meanwhile, in Bhubaneswar, former Olympic Champions Argentina will take on South Africa while World No.1 Australia will play France. In Rourkela, there were limited tickets left in the Rs 200 area behind the goal.
When India return to Bhubaneswar after their opening two group games, matches involving the host nation are also set for sell outs.

Ticket Prices:
India match day tickets are priced at Rs 500 for West Stand, Rs 400 for East Stand, and Rs 200 for North and South Stand. For non-India Match Days, tickets are priced at Rs 500 for West Stand, Rs 200 for East Stand and Rs 100 for North and South Stand.
For Qualifiers onwards till Finals in Bhubaneswar, tickets are priced at Rs 500 for West Stand, Rs 400 for East Stand and Rs 200 for North and South Stand. Whereas, for Positioning matches from (9-16 placings) in Rourkela, tickets are priced at Rs 500 for West Stand, Rs 200 for East Stand and Rs 100 for North and South Stand. Each ticket allows the spectator to watch the entire day’s proceedings at the respective venue.
