The ‘world’s best club hockey competition’ has returned to the historic HTHC club in the beautiful city of Hamburg. In case you’ve been hiding elsewhere all these years, the event showcases some of the best teams in Europe looking to advance to the latter stages of the competition usually held over the Easter holidays. This season’s KO16 has teams representing 11 different countries, while debutants Pinoke, Hamburger Polo Club and Old Georgians will be looking to make their mark at this level.
‘No other event like it’
Having competed in the inaugural EHL event back in 2008 with my Irish club Pembroke Wanderers and as recent as last season’s competition with my Dutch club SV Kampong, I can tell you first-hand that there is no other club competition like it on the planet. Often named as the Champions League of hockey the EHL offers a hockey player the unique chance to face the best teams and players the continent has to offer while creating magical moments throughout.
