What was your earliest ambition?
My earliest ambition was to actually play cricket for Australia. I loved it and loved being able to play in the backyard with my parents and sister. I think because you could watch it and have access to it on TV made it a little bit closer to reality even though I was only a kid.

The event that altered the course of your life and character…
Probably being selected for the Queensland Blades finals week team in 2009, this lead to me being selected in the Junior World Cup team in 2009 and then more exposure to international hockey.

You wouldn’t know it, but I’m very good at …
Knowing a lot about sports and all different kind of sports. I take a real interest in a wide variety and enjoy watching and learning about them.

The film you can watch time and time again (and why)
Remember the Titans. An absolute classic and my favourite movie of all time. Still so relevant within today’s society, which is unfortunate, but has a great story line!

What do you do to relax or get away from hockey?
Play golf, take the kids and dogs to the beach

Do you have a job outside of hockey – tell us about it…

I am currently coaching a Premier Division 1 ladies team in the Perth competition and also an assistant coach to Private school association hockey team.

What would be your priorities if you were invisible leader of your country for a day?
A four-day working week

And if you were the FIH chief for a day?
I would promote 11 v 11 game of hockey like no other!

The person who has influenced you most in hockey and why…
My parents – they never ever pushed me into anything I didn’t want. Always supported me with my hockey growing up and I certainly wouldn’t be not just the player but person I am today without them.

What has been your happiest moment?
Anytime I get to pull on the green and gold I am happy! It is a very prestigious uniform and to get to represent your county doing the thing you live always is a happy moment for me!

What would you change about hockey for the better?
I would change the game back to 2 x 35 minute halves.

What is your best coaching tip for aspiring players?
Do not ever let the game of hockey become a chore!

The prized possession you value above all others?
My Australian jersey.

What drives you on?
Continuing to seek becoming the best hockey player I can be! Challenging myself daily to be that player.

What stick do you use?
Gryphon Tour GXXII
