Having being part of a number of World Cups and being in international hockey now for almost 30 years now this World Cup is one to remember, writes our columnist
This World Cup was one with many indifferences and challenges. In saying that, in the end the best four teams in the world played in the final rounds, something that in the past tournaments has not always been the case. The previous World Cup edition, as we are all probably aware, Ireland played the final with a ranking of 10/12. Nothing against Ireland and their performance, but considering the rankings, they were clearly not top two in the world.
