Commonwealth Games: Playing for England never an option, says Hockeyroo Amy Lawton

Birmingham — Rising Hockeyroo Amy Lawton has admitted that she never had a desire to play for England, the country of her birth. “I remember school and how cold it was,” she jokes. “You can tell by my pale skin that I struggle in the heat of Australia.”

Multi-talented sports star Lawton was born in Worthing, Sussex before moving to Australia aged seven. She never held a stick in the UK and took up the game a year later when she moved Down Under.
