Agustina Gorzelany: Falklands ‘hero’ dad, Maartje Paumen add fuel to Argentina power

Agustina Gorzelany wears the Argentina No.3 shirt, a number with extra meaning in her family. Her father wore ‘3’ on his helmet during the Falklands War.

“I am the daughter of a hero from Argentina,” she said in a recent interview with CNN Radio. “My dad went to war and left everything for our country. How can I not fight the last ball as if it were the last?”

Opposition goalkeepers have been picking balls out of the net with regularity at the Women’s Hockey World Cup in Terrassa; in fact make that all year (12 Pro League goals as Argentina won their first title).
