With a structured mental warm-up, we have a far greater chance of being ready to perform and deal with the challenges ahead
We all know that for us to perform effectively in a game, we need to physically, and technically warm up. This warm-up helps us prepare our bodies for the specific physical demands of the sport, it helps us prevent injury and helps us to groove in the technical movement patterning that we want to use in the game.
Often, we have a structure for each of these elements that we do before each game. Maybe, a light jog, followed by some mobility to work, followed by some more dynamic movement patterns. My question for everyone is, how do we mentally prepare ourselves for the game’s challenges? What structure do we have to get us into the mindset that we want?
