‘Football doesn’t contribute to school pupils in the way hockey does’

One passionate hockey mother says that pitch upgrades to suit football is having detrimental effect on other sports

Our local, high ranking state comprehensive school in Hertfordshire has a sand hockey pitch which is in need of renewal/replacement this academic year. 

They have just had a 3G football pitch built, a joint venture with the local football club. And we were very saddened to hear last year that hockey had been removed from the PE GCSE curriculum.
