Buckingham women’s coach on league restructure, new women’s sponsor and fears over league rejig creating ‘closed top six’
Zak Jones, Buckingham women’s coach, is expecting another “really interesting” season in the Premier Division following last season’s curtailment. With a new sponsor in wine outfit Laithwaites and European indoor club action still to be played, there is added interest for Buckingham to achieve success too.
Buckingham had endured a decent start to their 2020/21 outdoor campaign and sat sixth after five games, having won two and drawn one.
That would have seen them take the last spot in the top-half of Phase Two which comes after Christmas, but Jones, an assistant GB men’s coach in Tokyo, is putting no expectations of a repeat on his side’s shoulders.
