Olympics Hockey: India men in good shape to revisit glory years

After a stunning 3-1 defeat of men’s Olympic champions Argentina on Thursday, eight-times winners India will have a quarter-final to get excited about in Tokyo.

They’ve not been on the podium since gold in 1980, and Rupinder Pal Singh said his side’s fitness drive is paying dividends.

“We have been working on that (overcoming teams late) and we have good fitness, which we have been working hard on in India,” he said.
