Olympics hockey: Australia survive Japan test, Belgium men move into gear

If the opening match of the Tokyo Olympics is a barometer for how this competition will pan out, then we are in for a thrilling two weeks after Australia survived a huge scare against hosts Japan at the Oi Stadium.

Japan, without the 12th man of the 10,000 crowd, were behind 2-0 in the first quarter before a stunning turnaround from the Samurai as they led 3-2 at the break with three goals in six minutes and a double from Kenta Tanaka.
