Partners Sarah Evans and Leah Wilkinson hope that being two of four Welsh hockey athletes at the Tokyo Olympics will set the trend for others who harbour hopes of playing for their home nation as well as Great Britain, writes Richard Bright.
There is always a strong representation of English athletes who are selected for each Olympics, while there will be two Welsh men (Rupert Shipperley and Jacob Draper) and two women who secured Tokyo tickets last month.
Jones and Wilkinson, who met 10 years ago while playing for Wales, will also make up the approximately 131 openly gay athletes who will compete in Tokyo, a record figure.
