‘Hockey 5s concept sounds dangerous and will take some converting’

Great Britain’s Sam Ward says he has yet to be convinced by Hockey 5s – and he will have to wait a while yet to understand the concept after world hockey postponed its promotional event in September.

The International Hockey Federation cited the “ongoing uncertainties” around the pandemic for pushing back its Hockey 5s two-day event in Lausanne to 2022.

  1. Hockey 5s will have it’s critics, that is but natural.

    I hope no one is forced to play it. The best solution might be separate teams for regular hockey and hockey 5s. That way everyone can choose which version of hockey they want to play. It will also allow more players to play at high level tournaments.
