Captain Adam Dixon will use his last two games in an England shirt to “throw it all out there” as he leads out his country in the EuroHockey Championships semi-finals on Thursday against old rivals Germany.
Buoyant England men stand within one match of their first major final in 12 years when they play the Germans, who have twice beaten sides in European Cup semi-finals Dixon has featured in.
Dixon, who will retire after the Olympics, is the only current player who competed in England’s 2009 European Cup success in Amsterdam. And he will now captain Danny Kerry’s side at the same venue in his last campaign in an England shirt.
