‘Incomprehensible’: Kate Richardson-Walsh lambasts Hockey 5s bid decision

Rio Olympic gold medallist Kate Richardson-Walsh resigned from world hockey’s athletes committee on Thursday night after Oman were awarded the first Hockey 5s World Cup.

Richardson-Walsh, along wife Helen, wrote a scathing social media post aimed at the International Hockey Federation (FIH)’s “incomprehensible” decision “to award tournaments to countries where being LGBTQ+ is illegal.”
