God squad: Can hockey follow football’s lead?

The news that the Church of England has given the blessing for a football team to be formed – an Archbishop of Canterbury XI – with plans for a women’s side to follow led to us researching whether there could be the ecclesiastical equivalent in hockey. After all, there is also a cricket team under the same name.

For now, The Hockey Paper has been sent lively correspondence from readers to the letters page in the Norfolk-based Eastern Daily Press.
