Oxted have been disqualified from the NOW: Pensions men’s cup for playing an ineligible player in their quarter-final win over Cannock on February 9.
They also lose four league points for fielding the same player, James Kryiakides, in the NOW: Pensions men’s hockey league conference east win against Bromley & Beckenham the day before.
Kryiakides was registered with Oxted. However on 1 February he played for Swansea City in the Davis Wood, West of England & South Wales Hockey League. In doing so he became ineligible to play in the national league and the cup.
Cannock have been reinstated in the cup and and will now face Sevenoaks in the semi finals.
Oxted appealed against these decisions, however their appeals were rejected by the England Hockey Appeal Panel.
