England’s sides bow out in Euro Hockey League

[img_assist|nid=3469|title=|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=100|height=66]AMSTERDAM, April 1 – Two sparkling matches brought the curtain down on a sensational four days of hockey at the Wagener Stadium, with HC Bloemendaal and host club Amsterdam H&BC sealing their place in the Euro Hockey League Semi Finals with superb wins.

Bloemendaal ended Beeston’s EHL dream with a 4-1 win. While Amsterdam produced a nail-biting 3-2 win over HC Berliner.

On Sunday, KHC Dragons overcame Reading 5-1 and Rot Weiss Koln defeated HTC Uhlenhorst 3-2.

The fact that two teams from the same nation have reached the semi finals has triggered a change in the schedule for Euro Hockey League’s Final Four event on May 18-19 .

Under EHL rules, if two sides from the same nation qualify for the Final Four, they must face each other in the semi finals.

Therefore, Amsterdam will meet Bloemendaal in the next phase, with Germany’s Rot-Weiss Köln going head-to-head with KHC Dragons of Belgium. The venue will be confirmed in the coming days.
