[img_assist|nid=6847|title=|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=100|height=42]BURTON, December 16 – Simon Egerton and Harry Martin were in fine form as they made sure that Beeston kept their perfect start to the men’s Maxifuel Super Sixes Championship premier division on Sunday.
Bowdon were the first to face them today and it took hotshot Egerton just three minutes open the scoring. Two minutes later, Ben Arnold doubled the advantage and then Harry Martin hit four cracking goals to make it a 6-1 victory.
But there was better still to come from Beeston as they faced Old Loughtonians in the final match of the day. Old Loughtonians really struggled and ended up on the wrong end of a 10-1 hiding.
It was all too easy for Simon Egerton who was given two chances to score penalty strokes, which he took on his way to a hat-trick
East Grinstead didn’t put a foot wrong today as a brace in each match from Mark Pearn cemented their second place standing.
It was a tough day for Sam Ward who blasted four goals in two matches for Loughborough Students but still ended up on the losing side on both occasions.
Their second game ended in a 6-3 loss to East Grinstead and in their first game, they faced Doncaster and were headed for a draw until Joe Morrison grabbed a winner for the South Yorkshire side in the last minute.
Late winners seem to be a theme for Doncaster and in their other game of the day, it was local lad Barry Middleton who snatched a 4-3 victory with a goal two minutes from time.
