[img_assist|nid=3520|title=|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=100|height=66]Kookaburras defender Kiel Brown and goalkeeper Andrew Charter have been named as the 17th and 18th player that will travel to London, as reserves for the Olympic hockey tournament.

Brown is younger brother of already-selected Hockeyroo Hope Munro.

These athletes are not members of the 2012 Australian Olympic team, unless they replace an injured or ill player in the 16 man team already selected.

Team management also plans to name a further two athletes (19 and 20) to take to London, to provide additional cover for the touring party.

These athletes will be identified on Saturday July 14, following the last practice match before the Kookburras leave for London on JUly 18.

The 19th and 20th player will travel to London on July 23

Where a selected athlete is replaced due to injury or illness, at or prior to the men’s hockey pre-competition briefing meeting, scheduled for July 28, Hockey Australia will identify the replacement athlete from either the two official alternate athletes, the two additional travelling athletes or any other member of the Olympic shadow squad.

Following this meeting, replacements can only be made from the two official alternate athletes listed above.
