[img_assist|nid=3469|title=|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=180|height=118]Uhlenhorster HC have won their third EHL title in the fifth Euro Hockey League (EHL) season. The Hamburg side defeated the hosts Amsterdam H&BC 2-1 in the first EHL Final which was decided in a penalty shoot-out.
What was the 200th match in EHL history was tied 2-2 after 80 minutes of high-quality hockey.
Hamburg can thank their goalkeeper Nicolas Jacobi who secured the victory with many outstanding saves. He also parried four attempts in the penalty shoot-out. Jan Willem Buissant was the only Amsterdam player who scored in the one-on-one , 8 seconds to score from the 25 shootout. Oliver Korn and Mathias Müller were successful for UHC.
KHC Dragons defeated HC Rotterdam 4-3 in extra time to win the bronze medal &nsdash; the first time in EHL history that a Belgian team wins an EHL medal. It is also the first time in EHL history that Rotterdam finish without a medal. The Hoofdklasse playoffs runners-up had claimed medals in all three of the EHL tournaments that they had participated in, Bronze in 2008 and 2009, Silver in 2010.
