[img_assist|nid=3520|title=|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=100|height=66]Kookaburras coach Ric Charlesworth and a squad of 24 players have arrived in the UK ahead of the London VISA International Invitational Hockey Tournament on May 2-6.
The European tour is a chance for the world’s number one team to see how they are tracking and how their competition is fairing in the lead up to the London Olympics.
A core group of players, including five time world player of the year, Jamie Dwyer have travelled to Europe but will only play select matches to ensure their work load is managed.
As well as the London test event the team will compete in scheduled games against Belgium and Germany from May 9.
Head Coach Ric Charlesworth said this was an important step in the Kookaburra’s journey towards London and every match counted when it came to selecting his Olympic team.
