Great Britain, Pakistan and Korea are day one winners in Malaysia

Great Britain defeated hosts Malaysia 3-1 on the first day of the 2011 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.

In earlier games an impressive Pakistan defeated New Zealand 4-2 and Korea turned over India with a come-from-behind 3-2 win.

GB took the lead in the 17th minute of their match when James Tindall (@jimmyt20) lifted home a corner rebound off the goalie’s pads. Richard Smith (@RS_smudge) added a second goal (open play) just before half time. Malaysia came back into the game through Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin (open play) six minutes into the second half.

GB’s third goal came from a neat deflection by Wimbledon’s Rob Moore (@rob13moore) in the 51st minute.
