Pakistan to start as favourites in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup

Asian Games champions Pakistan are favourites for the 20th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup according to the tournament’s website. 

[img_assist|nid=2059|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=150|height=117]Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, India and hosts Malaysia complete an impressive lineup for the men’s hockey tournament which starts on Thursday.

Penalty corner ace Sohail Abbas is in a Pakistan squad which includes twelve players from the Asian Games where the gold medal also qualified Pakistan for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Great Britain will play Pakistan on Sunday, but before that there are tough games against hosts Malaysia (1.05pm Thursday, UK time) and India (11.05am Friday, UK time).

The GB squad includes debutants Dan Fox (@DanFox450) of Hampstead and Westminster and former Irish international Iain Lewers (@iainlewers).
