Sponsorship manager for Maxifuel, Mark Morgan, is confident that the leading sports nutrition brand can help England Hockey players fulfil their ambitions. He said: “Maxifuel is excited to be working with England Hockey during a successful period for the governing body.

“Both men’s and women’s teams have important international competitions this year, as well as possible team selection for the London 2012 Olympics. It is important that their nutrition is first class – Maxifuel will ensure the players optimise their performance and meet the physical demands of international hockey.”

Jonathan Cockcroft, commercial and membership director at England Hockey said: “We have been working with Maxifuel for almost a year now and it is no coincidence that since both teams started using Maxifuel’s range of products, we have achieved our best return of results for a long time.”

England Hockey men’s player, James Tindall, who has scored 50 goals in 114 games, said the players have benefited from their sports nutrition programmes. He said: “I’m training four times a week, as well as maintaining a career outside hockey, so my sports nutrition programme is vital during preparation for competition. It’s hard to find the right balance, so I am delighted to be able to call upon Maxifuel’s reliable products to help ensure I am in peak condition throughout the year.”

Maxifuel is proud to support England Hockey, as well as GB athletes and Olympic hopefuls including, Stuart Hayes (Triathlon) Kate Dennison (pole vault), Chris Walker- Hebbon (swimmer) and Andrew Steele (400m), as well as elite cyclist Henry Furniss and Olympic skier Chemmy Allcott.
