Scottish Hockey Annual Awards Dinner 2011

Scottish Hockey’s Annual Awards Dinner 2011 will take place on Saturday May 21, 2011 at the Apex International Hotel, 31-35 Grassmarket, Edinburgh.

The evening will recognise the achievements of both teams and individuals, including domestic competition winners, coaching excellence, umpire performance, and the continuing commitment of dedicated volunteers to the sport in Scotland. We will also be awarding individual accolades to players who have peformed to the highest level throughout the 2010/11 season.

Open nominations for a number of awards can now be submitted via the online nomination form until Friday April 8, 2011. If you think that someone in Scottish hockey is deserving of any of the following awards, please submit your nomination.

  • Honorary Member (open nomination, then selected by Awards Committee chaired by Honorary President)
  • Order of Merit (open nomination, then selected by Awards Committee chaired by Honorary President)
  • Thistle Award (open nomination, then selected by Awards Committee chaired by Honorary President) 
  • Coach of the Year – Men’s (open nomination, then chosen by a selection panel)
  • Coach of the Year – Women’s (open nomination, then chosen by a selection panel)
  • Youth Coach of the Year – Men’s (open nomination, then chosen by a selection panel)
  • Youth Coach of the Year – Women’s (open nomination, then chosen by a selection panel)
  • Grassroots Coach of the Year (open nomination, then chosen by a selection panel)
  • Club Volunteer of the Year (open nomination, then chosen by Honorary President)
  • District U21 Volunteer of the Year (open nominations, then chosen by Youth Convenor)
  • District Volunteer of the Year (open nomination, then chosen by Honorary President)
  • National U21 Volunteer of the Year (open nominations, then chosen by Youth Convenor)
  • National Volunteer of the Year (open nomination, then chosen by Scottish Hockey President)
  • Youth (U21) Umpire of the Year (open nomination, then selected by Chair of Domestic Officials Committee and Youth Convenor)

The remaining awards are selected by a number of committees and panels:

  • Performance Umpire of the Year (selected by International Appointments Panel)
  • Potential Umpire of the Year  (selected by Domestic Officials Committee)
  • Umpire Coach of the Year (selected by Domestic Officials Committee)
  • Coach of the Year (selected from coach nominees above, by a selection panel)
  • Players of the Year – Men and Women – (selected by associated members of the press)
  • Young Players of the Year – Men and Women – (selected by associated members of the press)

Tickets for the Annual Awards Dinner will be released for general sale in April 2011.
