England 2 New Zealand 2

The Kiwis spoilt the party and put England’s Champions Trophy final propects in sever jeopardy at Highfields.
The New Zealanders looked good value for their 2-0 lead after 18 minutes with Piki Hamahona skinning Crista Cullen for the first and then smashing the ball high to Beth Storry’s stick side. A shock looked on the cards when Gemma Flynn, earning her 50th cap, was first to her own rebound off Storry’s pads and added a second.

England worked their way back into the game with a Nicola White finish to a right flank move engineered by Laura Unsworth and Charlotte Craddock (19minutes) and a Christa Cullen corner in the 31st.
A goal-less second half ended with an umpires video referral of a potential England corner. But the ruling was the clock had run out before the ball collected a foot in the NZ circle.
England will now only be in Sunday’s gold medal game if China put away the Argentinian’s in the 3pm game.
